Muir of Dinnet National Nature Reserve
September & October 2019
This project was carried out for Scottish Natural Heritage at their busy Muir of Dinnet site in Aberdeenshire to upgrade the sewage arrangements and car park to accommodate the increasing number of visitors. The installation of a full treatment plant, new pipework and wetland were carried out, along with giving the visitor toilets on-site a refresh. A new chemical waste disposal unit which provides safe disposal for waste from chemical toilets was also installed which aims to help accommodate the increasing number of camper vans visiting the area.
The site was of course classified as sensitive due to its status as a Nature Reserve and closeness to a burn where the updating work was being carried out. Subcontractors, Scott Duthie Joinery and Sugplumbing were also on-site to assist the project.
